The 22nd of december should be the day of my wedding. For this reason I went back to colombia, to see Catalina again after 5 month. I could expect a travel of more than 24 hours so I had to get up pretty early. With my brother martin and his girlfriend Andrea we travelled together to colombia. It was their vacacions and they were invited to our weeding. First we had to flight from munich to paris. We didn´t wait that long there and changed pretty fast to another plane of Air France which brought us directly to Bogotá, the capitol of Colombia.

Arrival

On the following day in the late afternoon about 5 p.m. colombian time, the plane arrived in the airport "El Dorado", on latinamerican land. Outside my girlfriend and her family were already waiting there for us. It was a very emocional moment when I saw her eyes. I took her in my arms like 2 minutes and I couldn´t believe that I have her in my arms after 5 month. It was such a hard time without her in germany an now I could see her eyes again. It is very dificult to describe that feelings.
Anyway, we had such a great time in Bogotá:

The first days...

The first days were truly nice and funny and we had a nice weather there, by contrast in germany the weather was already cold. Everybody was happy to be in Colombia, especialy me seeing my girl all the time now.
It was the first time for my brother Martin and her girlfriend in Colombia, so we showed them some interesting places in the capitol


The days went by and the 22nd of december was coming nearer and nearer...

Because my mother and my best friend were also coming to colombia a few days later, Martin, Andrea and me stayed in the house of y ex-host family. She received us with open arms in her nice house.

We should them as well the nice north of the city, but also the south which is not that beautiful, but Andrea and Martin liked it very much to see so many parts of Bogotá.

At home we drank fresh juices, exploring "new" fruits, we were dancing salsa and some of us like martin were doing senseless things ;)


Although I promised myself not to touch a computer meanwhile I was in Colombia, but i couldn´t resist to check my mails.
After that again I continued playing poker with the others. We spent a lot of time by playing poker ;)
In the same evening I was organizing a little party for my girlfriend. They told me it is a tradition to make that kind of party for the girls one the before they get married. So with help I organized a band who played romantic music only for her. She was very surprised, she really didn´t expect that!


On the same day, the 21st of december 2006, my mum and my friend Marijana arrived at the airport. We picked them up and drove them to the house of catalinas parents where the had their own room. Although they had a long journey and the wedding was taking place on the next day, they didn´t go to sleep immediately. They were enjoying the band with us and went to sleep after that...

Tourists in Bogotá

Directly after the wedding Catalina and me went to Santa Marta by plane. Meanwhile our families and friends stayed in Bogotá. The family of Catalina showed my mum, Martin, Andrea and Marijana many parts of the city:


The "Candelaria" is a very classic place in Bogotá, the Old Town!


Also fascinating: the traffic in Bogotá. Buses and Taxis are making the image of the streets. The drivers don´t pay that much atention to the rules. But anyway, it is working. They don´t make that much accidents there. I suppose in germany we have the same quantity of accidents like Bogotá.

On the "Monserate", you can see the complete city. Well you can see nearly everything because your eyes won´t never reach until the end ;)
You have to choices to get up to that mountain, either by an elevater or by feet on the steps. Because of the altitud it is pretty hard to get up especialy for europeans because there is less oxygen there.

Colombia, a paradise of exotic fruits and also very cheap!

On the right picture you can see my mom. In Bogotá you don´t see that often blond humans, so it wasn´t a wonder that people where looking at her all the time.



Another kind of church

Then they went to a salt mine... where you can find a underground church in the darkness :)

Then they went up again to the daylight. Everybody was very happy In that moment Catalina and me were still in the caribbean sea, lying in the sun and enjoying the life ;)

Fatih, a very good friend from munich was also one year in colombia making an exchange-year, actually one year earlier than me. He came also to colombia to enjoy his time there and was visiting us nearly every evening to smoke waterpipe with us.

The gold-museum - "Museo del Oro"

The gold-museum, "Museo del Oro", is a very famous and well-known museum in the center of Bogotá. You can see articles of art and figures of gold which were made many years ago from indians.



Coming back from Santa Marta

In the end Caralina and me were coming back from Santa Marta. Then we all spent a last day at home, because on the next day we all travelled together to Girardot, a little town outside from Bogotá, where we wanted to celebrate into the new year 2007.
