Colombia Girardot II (29.12.06 - 1.1.07) |

There where the complete story began, it continued - in Girardot, where we ex-exchangees had our first introcamp. But this time we didn´t stay in a "Finca", no we stayed in the pretty nice hotel "Penalisa".
With the complete family, so my wife, her brother henry, my brother Martin and his girlfriend Andrea, Angelika, Marijana, Santiago, my mother, Catalina´s mother and her father and also an aunt and uncle of her, we went together to Girardot!

So we just started. With seven people in the car we drove to girardot, the others were coming a little bit later. On the road we made some breaks and my mom absolutely cool with her typical dress "dirndl"!

You need like 2-3 hours from Bogotá to Girardot. |
In the end we arrived about 7 o´clock in girardot. Some couldn´t await to jump into the pool.
The hotel offers a lot of stuff there, like for example table-tennis, billiard, basketball, volleyball, tennis etc. Although christmas was already over, the hotel was still equiped with many christmas stuff.

Sunblocker #50 is really recommended for everybody. Also for people who don´t have a white skin :) Many persons can´t believe that they have to use such a sunblocker . |
So it was time for new year. Therefore the hotel organized an event with a dinner, music and a little firework.

In general it was a pretty calmed new year. We celebrated until 2 o´clock and then the most were already gone. Anyway we had to get up early on the next day!

The hotel Penalisa stays at the border of the town. To see something of the town, we made a trip to girardot. Not the most beautiful town, but for some it was a shopping-paradise :)

We, the "tourists" with our non-colombian faces got the attetion of the people ;)

Believe it or not, but at this river there is a harbor. Before ships were bringing all their stuff to that place.

On the 1st of january we had to go back to Bogotá, because Martin, Andrea, Marijana, my mother and me we had our flight back to germany on the 2nd of january.
So here, in Girardot, my travel ended now. There were everything started in august 2005, my story ends now.
For me it was such a great time, the best in my life. I really enjoyed every minute in colombia. My wife and me were already planing to come back to colombia. We don´t know the time exactly, but we think it will be in the end of 2007.
But first I have to wait for her until she comes to Germany, hopefully in the end of february!
